THE MOVEMENT: NOT A HYPEBEAST BUT A STYLEBEAST

DO YOU LIVE UP THE HYPE?

I only see high-end streetwear on social media, but no sparks of inspiration! Many try so hard, but no one convinces. Many live according to the motto: “If you buy Supreme, you’re the shit!”

Some of them even come up with the fact that they don’t even own the clothes, but borrow them for a fee, to fill their Instagram-feed with hidden faces. SMH. They try so hard to be crowned as “The Next New Thing”, by marketing themselves. They sure do a good job marketing themselves, however, the product still has the upper hand.

Product placement is on point, but no sign of authenticity.

What’s the point of high-quality street brands, if you can’t stand out from the crowd? How am I supposed to be the “SHIT” if I have no glimmer of uniqueness in me? Everybody press copy & paste, hoping to become the next fashion Messiah of our time.

STYLE OVER HYPE

“You do that too!!” – Of course, I buy trendy branded clothes here and there, that’s the instinct of a fashion-conscious person. But unlike other people, I try to find my own style, to make me incomparable with others. That’s true art. Every now and then you go with the flow, whether intentional or not, it always catches someone, sure! However, there is a difference between following a movement and tracking a movement. One can voluntarily and freely follow a trend and therefore remain timeless, while others are forced to track trends in order to remain relevant.

Do not always go with the flow of fashion-trends, dress up as you like and not as prescribed.

Be unique. Be authentic. God Damnit, just be you!

Wear as many trendy brands as you like, but never lose the upper hand. Don’t forget, you wear the clothes and not the other way around. Your style should remain timeless and have a recognition value.

Stop being like everyone else. Present yourself. Make yourself an unforgettable icon!

So who do you want to be?
